The Eagle EB2-5 Bob Tail tow tractor, built on the Ford Super Duty F-350 chassis, is North America airlines most preferred high-speed, long-distance, cargo-towing tug.
Featuring a towing capacity of 29,483 kg (65,000 lbs) at 40 kph (25 mph), this Eagle tow tractor is an all-purpose tug, capable of handling ground support equipment, ideal for towing 3-4 cargo dollies across long distances, in all weather conditions.
The Ford F-350 chassis has an unequalled, commercially-proven, reliable drive train and braking system. Complete with an ergonomic operator work station, the Eagle EB2-5 is equipped as standard with a rear hitch sight tunnel for direct hitch visibility, hydraulic power steering, ventilated front and rear disc brakes, as well as limited slip rear axles. The latter automatically transmits more power to the wheel that has more traction, as opposed to the wheel that is spinning, and thus, preventing slippage.
In addition, this cargo tug includes a heavy steel plate body, front and rear bumpers, and a heavy tubular grill guard and side protection to ensure ballast and protection.
Using a 132.5 litre (35 gallons) fuel tank, this cargo towing tractor is able to cover long distances and work long hours. Its Tier 2 diesel engine was designed to facilitate leak-free assembly, installation and operation for the full life of the vehicle, meeting the EPA emissions standards. The engine is also equipped with a heavy-duty air cleaner suitable for severe environments, and a dry replacement element.
The popularity of Eagle’s Bob Tail cargo tug has seen other companies try to duplicate the same power and reliability these models exhibit. However, despite these replicates, the Eagle Bob Tails are still the leaders in high-speed, long-distance, cargo-towing.
