Our MW-293Y yellow marshalling wands is a bright and durable wand has been designed for a range of marshalling activities. This LED wand features a loud (up to 120 dB) SOS alarm and three (3) light modes to capture attention and ensure visibility in any weather or traffic scenario. Visible up to a mile away, you can safely guide your aircraft with these ramp-grade marshalling wands. The wand is powered by three (3) AA batteries, allowing for up to 400 hours of operation.

Our MW-293Y yellow marshalling wands are durable, shock-proof and are resistant to impact. The wand features a non-slip handle and integrated lanyard. Made of waterproof material and complete with large buttons for easy operation with gloved hands, you can be confident in the performance of these wands in challenging weather conditions.

Each wand includes five (5) yellow LED lights and one (1) white LED for high visibility in the dark and features reflective film inside to intensify the light output. The wand features steady and flashing light modes. A third mode activates a white light at the top of the wand, turning it into a flashlight. The SOS alarm button creates a loud, high pitched noise for enhanced safety. The magnetic base allows for easy and secure placement of the wand. The top of the wand can be used to break a window if trapped inside a vehicle.

Our wands can be used for various applications besides aircraft safety, such as marine signalling, car safety, directing traffic, crowd control, community events (such as walks, bike races, or runs), construction zones, hunting and hiking safety. They can also be used by police, medical teams, and firefighters. Bikers, runners, and walkers use them for increased visibility at night.

Is the MW-293Y compliant with standard visibility and colour requirements for night and low-visibility marshalling?

Yes. The MW-293Y marshalling wand is designed to meet standard visibility requirements for night-time and low-visibility operations. This particular model is available in green, but it can also be supplied in green, red, or blue.

How durable and weather-resistant is the wand for daily ramp use?

The wand is designed for daily ramp use and is built to be durable and weather-resistant. It has a waterproof body and a rugged, shock-proof design, so it will continue to operate if dropped during normal handling.

The construction is impact-resistant and made to withstand regular operational use on the ramp. It features a non-slip handle and large controls that can be operated while wearing gloves, making it practical in real working conditions.

As with any equipment, it is designed to be robust rather than indestructible, but when used as intended, it is built to last in demanding airport environments.

Is it available in bulk for airport/FBO operations, and are charging/storage accessories available?

Yes, the wand is available in bulk quantities for airport and FBO operations. We routinely supply anything from small quantities through to large-scale orders, including previous orders in the region of thousands of pairs. Stock is normally held, but for larger volume orders there may be a lead time of up to 8–10 weeks, depending on quantity requirements.

Charging accessories are applicable only to the rechargeable version. Storage and charging options vary by model. While marshalling wand holders are available, this particular wand design is not compatible with those holders, as they are intended for use with other marshalling wand models in the range.

What is the operational time of this wand?

The wand offers up to 400 hours of operational time and is powered by 3 AA batteries. A rechargeable version of the red wand is also available, the MW-293R-RC. This model is powered by a sealed rechargeable battery and is supplied with mains charging capability, including a UK plug and USB charging cable, offering a convenient alternative for operators who prefer rechargeable equipment.
