The Lockheed C-130 Hercules towbar is specifically tailored for pushback and towing operations on the Lockheed C-130 Hercules, four-engine military transport aircraft.
With a capacity of 90,718 kg (200,000 lbs), this heavy-duty steel 3.05 m (10 inches) towbar is designed with durability and protection in mind. Alternatively, a 4.57 m (15 inches) bar with additional 12.6 cm (5 inch) extension can be chosen instead of the 3.05 m (10 inches) towbar.
This towbar features a hydraulic lift, which provides height adjustment with ease. Additionally, it comes equipped with a heavy-duty pneumatic wheel system that absorbs shock loads from impacts and an ergonomic U-handle, which limits bending or heavy lifting. Both of these features allow for easy manoeuvring of the towbar.
In addition, this military aircraft towbar features a lunette ring with an inside diameter of 7.94 cm (3.125 inches). This particular hitch is designed to work jointly with a pintle hook for a more secure connection. The towbar is also equipped with a linear and radial shear protection, as well as road speed rated wheels, hubs and bearing.
The Lockheed C-130 Hercules towbar head must be installed on site with four 1.9 cm (¾ inch) bolts, as it is the only part which isn’t assembled when shipped. The crating is included in the shipping.
