Aviation Spares & Repairs Limited (ASRL) is pleased to announce a further extension to its contract supporting the UK Ministry of Defence’s Merlin helicopter fleet.
Originally awarded in October 2022, the sole-source contract covers the provision of spares and consumables in support of Merlin Mk2, Mk3, Mk4 and Mk4A aircraft. Following the successful delivery of the initial contract term through to October 2025, ASRL has now secured an extension, extending the contract through to April 2027.
Throughout the contract, ASRL has worked closely with the Merlin Delivery Team and Inventory Managers to provide both fixed-price items and responsive sourcing of new material demands. The programme plays an important role in maintaining essential stock levels and ensuring the availability of critical components required to support operational readiness across the Merlin fleet.
The Merlin helicopter remains a key capability within the UK’s defence infrastructure, undertaking a wide range of missions including maritime operations, anti-submarine warfare, troop transport and support activities. The continued availability of spares and consumables is vital to maintaining fleet readiness and supporting operational requirements.
The award of this latest extension reflects the strong working relationship developed between ASRL and the Merlin Delivery Team, together with ASRL’s ability to provide reliable supply chain support and responsive procurement services throughout the contract period.
Bret Coombs, Managing Director of Aviation Spares & Repairs Limited, commented:
“We are delighted to have been awarded a further extension to our Merlin support contract. Since the initial award in 2022, our team has worked hard to ensure critical spares and consumables are available to support fleet operations. This extension is recognition of the commitment shown by our staff and supply chain partners, and we look forward to continuing our support of this important capability through to 2027.”
Aviation Spares & Repairs Limited continues to support defence and aerospace customers through the provision of specialist supply chain management services, aircraft spares, tooling, ground support equipment and technical procurement solutions.
